Boiler Controls Upgrade
Synopsis: The original single point linkage system used was a camshaft and a single motor to control both the air and fuel supply opening. This set-up created a “Play” or “Slop” in the linkage system and prevented the fuel and air linkage from returning to their respective positions. A Parallel Positioning Servos which independently controls the air and fuel supply openings was installed to maintain linkage position when moving from low fire to high fire and vice versa. This provides the proper mix of air and fuel with minimal to no CO; decrease the O2 levels to >3% (reduction in excess air); improves the combustion efficiency; and reduces the NG consumption per steam produced.
